Director’s Note: If you notice at the 6 minute mark, the true martial arts film fans will notice footage used from the 1980 film ‘Revenge of the Ninja’… Allow me to explain… The trailer at the beginning of the movie for the ‘La Diable’ feature is my attempt at making a film the same way the creators of ‘Shogun Assassin’ and “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” re-edited and remastered Japanese movie footage to create an entirely different story from what the footage was originally intended to be. Upon attempting to approach this project with proper form, I wanted to first experiment with this technique in the scene at the 6 minute mark of AFRO SAMURAI by including this re-edit/remaster of ‘Revenge of the Ninja’ film finale’ before executing this technique for an entire film. And I have to say that im very happy with the way we were able to not only include it as a natural flowing part of the AFRO story and feel, but also impressed with the way we were able to change the characters and outcome of the battle completely from its original version. Just a piece of info not many outside of the film making realm would find interesting. But wanted to include this info for any who notice an wonder! Hope you all enjoy our latest film!
